Today Was A Pretty Good Day

I got to bed at a reasonable time last night but still woke up quite a few times and I wasn’t able to get back to sleep after J left for work. Still, I think getting to bed earlier helped. Unfortunately, it looks like I’m going to be up later this evening than I’d hoped.

My exercises went pretty well today, too. I only had to get up and chase ghosts four or five times, which really isn’t too bad. Zero would be better but seeing as how it used to be a dozen or more an hour, this is pretty good. I felt better after finishing them, too.

After I was done my exercises I was feeling kind of rough. My mouth was really dry and I felt kind of gross. I’m not sure why, but I think I was dehydrated. After two big cups of water I was feeling much better.

The big news from today was my walk and how I managed to force myself to go into the grocery store for a couple of minutes. Hopefully this wasn’t a one-time thing – I will go there again tomorrow and see if I can duplicate my success. Fingers crossed!

After I got back from my walk, I texted with some people, and then got a text from FA. Turns out she was going to be in this end of town and was wondering if she could stop in for a bit. I thought that was a great idea, and she arrived a little while later with lunch. We talked while we ate (and MAN, were the burritos good today) and then played a game of Carcassonne. Unfortunately, she had to leave shortly after that but it was really good to see her and spend some time hanging out!

After FA left, I gave Fortnite another try. I thought that in the 100-person free-for-all games that everyone was on their own. I figured out that I was still on a small team of four people because what sounded like an eight-year-old started yelling at me and ordering me into position. He needn’t have bothered being rude – I was dead 15 seconds after I landed on the ground. There were other games where the people were chatting and being friendly about everything, and I found myself almost wishing I had hooked up a microphone to get in on the conversation. My worst round had me dying four seconds after I landed my glider. FOUR SECONDS. Yeesh. Oh, I almost forgot – I got my second kill today, whoo!

Oh, and here you go, DM – this is the Battle Bus. It floats over the map and once it’s travelled enough, everybody jumps out whenever they want to fall toward where on the map they want to start.

Fortnite Battle BusAfter getting mangled many, many times, I decided to go back to my microscope for a bit. No pictures today, but I spent some time reading up on condensers and apertures and things like that, and I think I now have things set up a little better and it seems to be focusing a little better.

J had her midterm exam today, and heard from her around 3:30 that things went well. I’m happy about that – she was a little nervous going into it.

DA had some good news today too. He got the giant trailer he rented emptied and everything returned to the rental place with no problems or penalties. I must admit, I’m pretty impressed at the amount of work he did over the past week or so. Pretty crazy!

Tomorrow I am going to do some cleaning up around the house, play with my microscope, and probably try some more Fortnite. Maybe I’ll hook up a microphone to see if it makes any difference.

Stay safe.
