Still Down, Not Out

Song: N/A

Mood: 4.5

I had my appointment with Dr W yesterday and it was good to talk with him. He had some helpful suggestions to deal with the things that have been bothering me over the last week or so.

Today was my second appointment with Dr P, and it went well too. On my way into the building, I passed a woman pushing a stroller with a little girl inside who kept saying “Hi! Hi! Hi!” to me as we passed. It’s hard to not smile a bit when something like that happens to you. Dr P and I did some prep work to start EMDR next week and we worked on my current mood, too, which also helped. I don’t think I feel quite as bad as I have lately.

Since I’ve been having trouble doing things, Dr P suggested I try to commit to doing one or two things and then letting him know how it went. So over the next week I have to make a bird feeder hook for J and go out for another motorcycle ride. Both should be quite doable but if they don’t get done, it’s not the end of the world. Just part of the process.

Today is also a milestone for this blog – I received my first legitimate comment from an actual human being! The comment came from someone who works with another mental health site and is interested in doing some cross-posting. I think that’s great!

Other than that, I haven’t done much today. Getting out to see Dr P was my big task; I spent most of the rest of the day on the couch. As much as I don’t want to do it, I need to get more active again and keep my hands and brain busy.

Stay safe.
