And I’m Back…

Song: “Little Arrows” by Leapy Lee

Mood: 5.5

Nightmares: 0

Unfortunately, I can’t really remember what happened a couple of days ago. I barely remember yesterday. It’s been cool out so my walks have been less unpleasant than usual, but aside from that I’m really not sure.

Oh, and yesterday I shaved off all of my facial hair. I feel weird without it (and look kind of like a giant fat baby alien) so I will be growing it back very shortly. It doesn’t take too long to fill in, so I will hopefully only look unkempt for a little while.

I’m still not sleeping well, but it seems to be a little better lately. I haven’t been having nightmares (thankfully) but I’m still waking up worried about something or other. Having the pictures of the doors locked and everything okay helps, but I am a little concerned that I’m going to come to rely on having those pictures, which just adds to the larger problem.

My exercises aren’t going very well, but like the sleep, it could be much worse. The ear defenders are still working their magic, but I’m having trouble keeping focus and not falling half asleep. Once, I heard something like tearing sheets of cardboard, which gave me a bit of a start. I went to check it out but found that I couldn’t move at all. It took me a couple of seconds to realize that I was listening to myself snoring. Weird.

I also did something stupid a few days ago and I’m still hurting from it. Sore muscles and stuff like that used to take a day or two to get better, but I guess this is what happens when one starts to get old. I’ve got to admit that it’s got me feeling a little down. Who knows – maybe I’ll wake up tomorrow and be back to my normal self.

We have a lot of rabbits in the neighbourhood. I don’t mind them coming by to say hello, but I don’t want them to build a nest in the yard because it’s not safe for them. I’ve shovelled up the aftermath of encounters between a rabbit and SOMETHING in the back yard enough times to almost have enough parts to build a zombie Sasquatch, so for their sake I’d rather they built their houses somewhere else.

Anyway, there’s one rabbit that comes by and spends part of its day in the yard. I don’t know where it comes from, and I don’t know where it goes, but when it hangs out in the yard it looks pretty relaxed. I took a picture the other day:

Bunny on the lawn!Note the kicked-out leg. That’s what our guinea pigs used to do when they were comfortable. I don’t know why it hangs out in the dirt under our tiny spruce tree, but it seems to like that spot the most. It sometimes hangs out by the deck stairs, but we usually find it under the tree.

Despite what I said on Sunday evening, I have yet to accomplish anything significant yet this week. I made supper this evening, but that’s not really all that big of a deal. Although… I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this before, but I don’t like touching raw meat. I especially don’t like touching (or even looking at, for that matter) raw chicken, so a little while ago, we ordered a pack of food handling gloves. We weren’t sure if we were going to use them, so we went with the cheapest ones we could find. I cooked chicken for supper and went to pull on a pair:

Cheap GlovesYes, they were THAT cheap…

I’m pretty disorganized right now so I’m not sure what’s going on tomorrow. I need to do some cleaning around the house and there’s always laundry to do. Maybe I’ll accomplish something.

Stay safe.
